  13. Position: IHV Program Manager
  14.  
  15.  
  16. Primary Responsibilities:
  17. Management of the following types of relationships:
  18. non-OEM PC Vendors
  19. Independent Hardware Vendors (IHVs)
  20.  
  21. Specific Responsibilities:
  22. Driver Deliverables:
  23. * Represent NeXT to PC and Hardware vendors to promote NEXTSTEP
  24. technology
  25. * Initiate partnerships to capture IHV product plans/features in
  26. order to incorporate into NEXTSTEP driver plans
  27. * Negotiate contracts and agreements for NeXT with third-party
  28. driver developers
  29. * Make initial recommendations for NEXTSTEP Driver development to
  30. NeXT's internal Driver Team.
  31. * Manage the Driver Process lifecycle from concept to release.
  32. * Develop Driver Product Plans as required for assigned vendors
  33. * Responsible for the NeXT Hardware Compatibility Guide
  34.  
  35. HW Process Deliverables:
  36. * Responsible for the Hardware Certification Process
  37. Modify and refine as required
  38. Track all hardware configurations through process
  39. Provide status on HW in queue
  40.  
  41. HW Program Deliverables:
  42. * Provide SW Engineering & SQA, etc. early information/specs on
  43. cards and chipsets well before IHV releases the product
  44. * Understand and communicate the Product Roadmap from assigned
  45. vendors
  46.  
  47. Education, Skills and Experience Required
  48. * Strong technical PC background, with extensive hands-on
  49. knowledge of hardware and peripherals.
  50. * Knowledge of competitive products and market leaders in the PC
  51. industry
  52. * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; MBA preferred
  53. * Minimum of FIVE years of progressively more responsible
  54. technical marketing or technical program management in a system
  55. software, computer, peripherals, or component environment.
  56. Alternatively, the successful candidate could have an engineering
  57. background with experience managing third-party relationships
  58. * Experienced in initiating, developing and strengthening
  59. corporate and third-party vendor relationships
  60. * Process- and product-focused with a strong customer orientation
  61. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  62. * Ability to provide business/technical direction and leadership
